Monday Morning Memo

August 12, 2019        Esperanza Estates        Green Valley, AZ

Wednesday Night Movie at 7:15 at the Ramada
This week's film is Mrs. Henderson Presents. With some money in her pocket after the death of her husband, Mrs. Laura Henderson (Judi Dench) buys a theater and hires an irascible theater manager to run the business, despite bad blood between the two. Henderson has a hit on her hands when she decides to add beautiful nude women to the stage shows at her Windmill Theatre. Though they are touched by tragedy, Henderson and her company bravely keep the theater active during the 1940-'41 Blitz of London.
Thanks to Jane and Eric Ellingson for sponsoring this event and to Dean and Robin Lockwood who provided this summer's films.
After this week, the movies will be on vacation until late September.

Bug Free Pool
Thanks to Gary Thompson, our early morning swimmer, for skimming the pool every day to remove the critters who seem to enjoy the pool as much as residents do.

Volunteers Needed - We are still looking for a few volunteers to sweep up the Ramada. A shop vac is available.

Meet Some New Residents
Please join the Bienvenidos Committee in welcoming Guy and Cindy Carlson (Calle del Regalo) to Esperanza Estates. Native Californians, the Carlsons came here from Fullerton. Guy was a transportation manager, and he asked his truckers for recommendations about a nice place to retire. After hearing numerous reports of how nice Green Valley is, they decided to move here with their two dogs, Frankie and Cody. Although they have only been here a short time, they feel they made the right choice.
Both Guy's and Cindy's jobs kept them too busy to develop hobbies, but they are looking forward to trying the many opportunities in this area. Meanwhile, they enjoy spending their evenings in their back yard where they have a spectacular view of the stars.
