Cure for Summer Doldrums-HOA Board Meeting
Today, June 19 at 1PM is the last chance you'll have to see our very own Board in action until Fall. It's the cure for boredom. The surcharge for trimming untrimmed tall palms, an increase on Green Valley Council dues, an update in the county road repair saga, and the creation of a technical advisor position are on the agenda so far. But wait!! Other items could be added! You'll surely be on the edge of your seats, waiting to see if Dean Hess makes it home in time for dinner.

Movies are Back
The movie this week is City Slickers starring Billy Crystal. On the verge of turning 40, an unhappy Manhattan yuppie is roped into joining his two friends on a cattle drive in the southwest. Showtime is 7:00 p.m. at the Ramada.  Thanks to the Ellingsons for sponsoring this event.

Some Like It Hot
Thirty intrepid party goers braved the triple digit heat on Saturday night to join the festivities at the Ramada.  Thanks to the Hospitality Committee for keeping our activities going during the summer.  The fans and sunscreens kept temperatures pleasant during the meal and movie.  The next event will be on July 4th.

There's Still Time to Trim Those Palms
Lightning fire concerns make trimming your tall palms a must in EE. June 30 is the deadline. The HOA arranges for trimming after that with cost plus a surcharge of up to 50% billed to the homeowner.

Green Valley Hospital Focus Group
GVC is hosting a citizens' focus group on June 20 at 10 a.m. to discuss the future of the hospital. The meeting will take place at the GVR West Center.

"Microsoft Verification Alert"
A neighbor reported receiving an email with that subject line which went on to say "Your e-mail account will expire at the end of the month." The message continued, "In other <sic> to remain..." using 'other' instead of 'order'; at that point he became suspicious and deleted the message. If you receive a similar e-mail, save yourself the time and just delete it!
