Fiesta Tonight
The postponed Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at the Ramada is
tonight, Monday,
May 8, starting at the usual time of 4:30 with
food served at 5:00. This is a potluck; the Hospitality
Committee will furnish dessert, margaritas, beer and
wine. Since this is a Mexican fiesta, we encourage
everyone to dress the part. For fun, there will be a
couple of pinatas filled with goodies.
Wednesday Movie
This week's movie is A
River Runs Through It starring
Brad Pitt. The story about two sons of a stern minister
-- one reserved, one rebellious -- growing up in rural
Montana while devoted to fly fishing. Showtime is 7:00
p.m. at
the Ramada. Thanks to Jane

The Buzz about the May Board Meeting
Monday, May 15th is
the date of the next EE HOA Board meeting. Mark your
calendar for 1 pm now and put that insulated water
bottle in the freezer. A previously considered
resolution requiring removal of an infestation of
insects within 48 hours will be up for a vote. Bee there
at 1 p.m. for
a prime seat.
Ice Out on the Santa Cruz
For those of you new to Green Valley, that's what we say
when the temperature first hits 100 degrees, which it
did on Thursday. It came early this year so lingering
Minnesotans and Michigandans got a taste of what summer
is like here. Probably enough to make them speed up
their packing. This will be my first summer here, and
friends tell me "it's not bad." We'll see.
Seeking Shade?
Check out Parque Felicidad, just east of the
tennis/pickleball courts. It's hard to believe that this
was just a dusty lot only two years ago. What a
difference a group of hard-working, forward thinking
gardeners and a couple years of growth makes.
New Time for Tennis
Summer must be here because tennis has moved to its
early start time of 8:00
a.m. on
Fridays. New players are always welcome.
In Memoriam
It is with great personal sadness that I report that my
dear friend and our EE Periodico publisher Denise
Roessle passed away on May 2. Our condolences to her
family and friends.
