Spring Fling
The Spring Fling is this Saturday at the Ramada. Our creative and hard working Hospitality Committee will take you back to the 50's. Look forward to burgers, hot dogs, beans, coleslaw, cookies, beer, wine, and soft drinks!  Music will be performed by Country Comfort featuring country rock and oldies. There will also be a raffle to help raise money for a few Ramada kitchen cupboard improvements.
Social hour starts at 4:30 and dinner at 5:00. Cost is $8.00. The bin for donations to the Green Valley Food Bank will be at the Ramada. Bring a food donation if you can.

Pledge to Purchase Land on Esperanza Boulevard
The latest news from the Committee: "We held a meeting with the Portillo Place, Ventura West and Las Campanas HOA "land acquisition" teams to review the status of inquiries and pledges. Our joint pledge drives are showing good results. Although we are nearing the estimated target for required purchase funds, we are still accepting further pledges to ensure we meet our goal. We are also close to determining an ultimate owner and expect to have an answer and recommendation to discuss at the EE Board meeting on April 16. The bottom line is that we are nearing the finish line!"

No Movie Night
There won't be a movie this Wednesday, but you can look forward to a great line up of films starting on Wednesday, April 18.

Attention Book Discussion Group Members
The group voted to change the date & time of future meetings to the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 1:00. At the next meeting on May 8, the group will discuss Hotel Paradise and will also consider selections for next year. You can find the list of recommended books from which the group will choose in the March issue of the Periodico available on the EE website esperanzaestates.net.

EE Board Scheduled for Monday March 16th at 1 pm
Another regularly scheduled meeting of the EEHOA Board is looming on the horizon. Mark your calendar now. Not likely you'll need a sweater for this one.

Green Valley Food Bank
As you get ready to head back to your summer home, please consider giving your pantry items to the Food Bank. There is always a bin on the back counter in the Ramada kitchen ready to accept donations. Thanks to Jane and Eric Ellingson for transporting the bins to the Food Bank.

PM Water Aerobics
Reminder that starting this week, afternoon water aerobics meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 2:30.

Support Our Vets and Families
Valle Verde Rotary Club supports Fisher House on the campus of the Veterans Hospital in Tucson. Fisher House, like the Ronald McDonald House, is for families of veterans who are being treated at the hospital. It provides free room and meals for immediate family members in a nice hotel-like setting.
As part of the club's support, donated supplies for the use and support of these families are collected. Donations of supplies will be accepted at the Hospitality Committee's Spring Fling on April 14 at the Ramada.
The most needed supplies are: slipper socks, travel size hair spray, coffee creamer, decaf K-pods, individual snacks, individual chip bags, Ziploc sandwich and storage bags, plastic forks, paper plates and bowls, paper towels, cleaning supplies (Formula 409, Lysol toilet bowl cleaner and bathroom cleaner with peroxide), disinfecting wipes, dish soap and dishwasher detergent.

Green Valley Gardeners Annual Garden Tour
The Green Valley Gardeners will hold their annual garden tour of 5 private gardens in the Green Valley area on Saturday, April 14 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There's something for everyone in the varied gardens -- a formal garden, an Audubon Habitat Home, cacti and succulent gardens, and a garden featuring fruit and vegetables. Tickets are $12. EE residents can purchase tickets from Cynthia Surprise (cjsurprise@verizon.net) until Friday, April 13.
