Monday Morning Memo

April 3, 2017        Esperanza Estates        Green Valley, AZ

Wednesday Movie
This week's movie, The Light Between Oceans, is a 2016 romantic period drama film based on the 2012 novel of the same name by M. L. Stedman. The film tells the story of a lighthouse keeper and his wife who rescue and adopt an infant girl found adrift at sea. Years later, the couple discovers the child's true parentage and are faced with the moral dilemma of their actions. Showtime is 7:00 at the Ramada.
Thanks to the Ellingsons for hosting the weekly movies.

Morning Water Workout
The morning Water Aerobics Group will begin again on Wednesday, April 5, at 8:30 a.m. and continue every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at that time. It's open to everyone. Also, summer pool hours are now in effect.

Book Discussion Group
The Book Discussion Group will meet at the Ramada on Tuesday, April 4, at 11:00 to discuss Reconstructing Amelia.

Lunch at Tohono Chul Gardens
The Fiber Arts group is going to lunch at the Tohono Chul Gardens on Tuesday April 18. Lunch will be followed by touring the gardens if you wish. We'll meet at the Ramada at 11:00 to carpool there. Anyone interested may contact Barbara Copeland by text or call to 952-250-6716.

EE Food Bank Donation
The Green Valley-Sahuarita Food Bank was the recipient of 74 pounds of food donations on March 29, 2017 thanks to EE residents.

Once De Abril Celebration Planned
Residents leaving Green Valley in May won't have to miss the Mexican-themed potluck this year. Hospitality is getting the jump on Cinco De Mayo by declaring Tuesday, April 11th EE's own south-of-the-border celebration. The party begins at 4:30 pm.

Attention Yoga Participants
The last class of the season at the Ramada will be held on April 26. Classes will resume in the fall.

Surprise Surprised by Rattlesnake at the Ramada
Craig Surprise reported a close encounter of the rattlesnake kind at the Ramada last week--a reminder to be alert everywhere. Snake activity increases once temperatures reach the 60s. In summer, they're on the move when the mercury hits the 80s and 90s. They're resting in shady spots when temperatures are higher.
The EE Board is considering painting "NO SNAKES" on the floor at the entrance to the Ramada to discourage the reptiles from entering.
