Monday Morning Memo

December 21, 2015        Esperanza Estates        Green Valley, AZ

Board Meets Today
The Board meeting is today,
Monday, December 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ramada.  Two important proposals are on the agenda: one for a storage facility at the tennis/pickleball courts, and a Gardeners' proposal for renovating Esperanza Estates Park.  The agenda is at the end of this memo.

Monthly Coffee & Donuts
Even if you're looking forward to a big Christmas meal on Thursday, stop by for the monthly free coffee and calorie-free donuts at the Ramada on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.  Heaters will be on for your early morning comfort.  Thanks to the Cookes and the Surprises for hosting this event.

Annual Luminarias
A popular tradition in EE is the lighting of luminarias by residents on Circulo Napa.  Enjoy walking down the street after dusk on Wednesday to see this lovely display.

1/1 at 1
That's shorthand for January 1 at 1:00 p.m.  Join your neighbors to welcome the new year at the annual First Day Potluck at the Ramada.  When?  January 1 at 1:00 p.m.  See how easy that is to remember? Please bring a dish to share and your own table service.  Hot coffee and maybe hot cider will be provided.  Bring any other beverage you want.  Thanks to Jane Ellingson and Mona Sheffield for organizing this event.  Call Jane at 625-7782 if you'd like to help set up.

Hot Desert Appreciation
The Hot Desert landscaping crew goes "above and beyond" to help our residents and our HOA.  If you would like to contribute to a special holiday gratuity for them, there will be a container for that purpose on the Ramada counter at the Board meeting today and at the Coffee & Donuts on Wednesday. Contact Dean Hess (780-8995) if you'd like to contribute but won't be attending either event.

Shoe Painting Workshop
Yes, you read that correctly.  And no, we don't mean what happens when you're a sloppy painter.  The EE Artisans will hold a workshop at the Ramada on January 14 at 1:00 p.m. where Joey Sourant (ever notice her cute sandals?) will teach participants how to turn their boring, old shoes into colorful conversation pieces. Paint supplies will be available at the workshop, but bring your own shoes. If your closet is full of Jimmy Choos and Prada, you might want to head over to the White Elephant for your first painting attempt.

EE Exceptional Enhancement
Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of the Enhancement Team once again.  It was Enhancement's donation that made the quite attractive and very functional Ramada waste container enclosure possible. Come to think of it, the members of the Enhancement Team are quite attractive and very functional, as well.

Hospitality Holiday a Hit
More than ninety EE residents gathered in the warmth of a pleasantly heated Ramada last Tuesday. Appetizers abounded.  Hot cider and mulled wine steamed.  Carols were sung.  Thanks to the energetic Hospitality Hotties for the planning, decorating and clean-up.
