Monday Morning Memo

November 11, 2019        Esperanza Estates        Green Valley, AZ

Thanks to Our Vets
Thanks to the many veterans in EE for their service.

Book Discussion Group
The group will meet on Tuesday, November 12, at 1:00 at the Ramada to discuss Unliving the Dream by Sandra Vischer.
New members are always welcome.

Board Meeting Next Monday
The EEHOA Board will hold its regular meeting on Monday, November 18 at 1:00 at the Ramada.
All residents are welcome to attend. It's a great way to learn about what's happening in EE.

Wednesday Night Movie
This week's movie on Wednesday at 7:00 at the Ramada is 9 to 5 starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton.  An office satire about three female secretaries who decide to get revenge on their tyrannical boss by abducting him and running the business themselves.
Thanks to Jane and Eric Ellingson for sponsoring this event.

Water Aerobics
Because of cool mornings, the water aerobics group will be on hiatus until spring. "Polar bear" club, anyone?

Have Space in Your Garage?
The Enhancement Team is seeking a garage to use to store large items for the Ramada Sale in March. They also need volunteers with pickup trucks to transport these items to the storage areas. Contact Jackie Rautio (602-206-3354) if you can help or want to donate items to the sale.

New Bench
Dog walkers often congregate at the entrance to the walking trail next to Camino Holgado to socialize. Now dog walkers (or anyone else) has a place to sit thanks to the new bench donated by Scottie Blum in memory of her husband, Fred.

Dog Park?
Hugh Gates will hold an informal meeting to explore the idea of having a dog park in Esperanza Estates. The meeting will take place at the Ramada on Wednesday at 1:00. Anyone who has ideas or opinions (pro or con) is welcome to attend. This is only a preliminary discussion to see if there is any interest in such a facility. The HOA board has not approved the idea of a dog park.

Want to sell at the Dec. 7 EE Arts and Crafts Fair?
Call Robin Lockwood at 612-618-5582. There is a $5.00 table fee to help cover the cost of advertising.
Vendors must be EE homeowners or residents.

Who Are You?
You won't have to introduce yourself at the next Hospitality event if you have an EE name badge.
To order one ($6), call Melodye Cooke at 520-336-8844

Memorial Service
A memorial service for Jim Lindberg will take place on Saturday, December 14, at 10 AM at Desert Hills Lutheran Church, 2150 S Camino del Sol.

From the Bienvenidos Committee
Please welcome Bill & Vicki Olson (1107 Circulo del Sur).
Vicki was the caregiver for John Pierce who lived at that address until his death just before his 105th birthday. Bill and Vicki lived in Brainerd, Minnesota for 45 years before moving to Las Vegas, NV for Bill's work as an intellectual property attorney. They operated a 6-bed assisted living facility for a number of years before moving to Green Valley. Vicki continues to work part-time as an assisted living home health aid. Bill is a musician and plays at various Green Valley venues. The Olsons own another house in Green Valley, but will spend a few days a week in EE. Vicki's sister will rent the EE house from January through April this coming year.
