Monday Morning Memo

Hospitality Committee Meeting
The Hospitality Committee will hold its first meeting of the season on Monday, October 28th at 1:00 PM at the Ramada.  This will be a brief meeting to reconnect, and to make a few plans into the next months.  New members who wish to join in the fun of organizing monthly gatherings for the EE community are welcome to attend.  If you cannot attend this meeting, but wish to join the committee, please contact Robin Lockwood at 612-618-5582.

Hospitality Pot Luck Tuesday at 4:30
Plan to bring a family-sized dish to share to the first Hospitality event of the 2019-2020 season. Desserts, wine, beer and soda are provided, as are plates and eating utensils. Meet new friends and greet old friends at social hour starting at 4:30. Dinner starts at 5:00. Halloween costumes are encouraged but not required.

Wednesday Night Movie
This week's movie on Wednesday at 7:00 at the Ramada is Paper Moon. Real-life father and daughter Ryan and Tatum O'Neal team up as slick con-artists Moses Pray and Addie Loggins in 1930s Kansas. Thanks to Jane and Eric Ellingson for sponsoring this event.

EE Annual Craft Sale
The 5th Annual EE Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair will be held on Saturday, December 7, from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Ramada. If you are interested in selling your creations, you can reserve a space by calling Robin Lockwood at 612-618-5582. A nominal fee of $5.00 will be collected from each vendor on the day of the event to help cover the cost of advertising. Because of limited space, vendors must be EE homeowners or residents. This event is co-hosted by Robin Lockwood and Debbie Ries.

Attention Fiber Artists
The EE Fiber Arts Group is starting its new season of creativity this week on Thursday at 1:00 PM at the Ramada. Bring your projects or just come over to socialize and see what others are working on. New members are always welcome.

New Pickleball Hours
Please note that regular pickleball play will now start at 8:00 AM every day. Mornings are getting chilly.

Javelina Havoc at the Pickleball Courts
Local javelinas have heard that pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America, and they want to get in on the action. Several of them have been checking out our courts under the cover of darkness. (Maybe to avoid the $10 guest fee.) We know this because of the scratches they left on the new courts. Please be sure to close the gates when you leave to prevent further damage.

Food Bank
Please remember we have a container in the Ramada kitchen where you can deposit items for the Green Valley Food Bank. Thanks to Jane and Eric Ellingson for delivering the donations to the food bank every week.

EE Board News
The only replacement lamp post head approved for use in EE is model #82065-12 available from Sea Gull Lighting. Contact Tom Cooke (520-399-0455) if you need to obtain a new lamp head. If you are thinking of using a solar light, you should contact Architectural Control before you purchase the item. It must conform to the approved lamp head in appearance and brightness.

Greg Gramstad is the new courtmaster at the pickleball courts.

Volunteers are needed to serve on Neighborhood Relations to cover the area West of Portillo. Contact Dave Sielken (908-346-1760) if you are interested in this position.

The Board is still recruiting candidates to serve on the Board. Contact Ken Lindeman (970-577-3395) if you would like to be considered.

The Board is also recruiting for a webmaster for our EE website. You don't need to be a full-time resident to take on this position. Contact Dave Sielken (908-346-1760) or Craig Surprise (617-599-2204). Craig can give you the details of what the position involves and will be available to you as a resource.

The Enhancement Team is seeking a garage to use to store large items for the Ramada Sale in March. They also need volunteers with pickup trucks to transport these items. Contact Jackie Rautio (620-206-3354) if you can help. The Enhancement Team is also looking for suggestions for projects on which they can use the funds in the coming year. New members are always welcome to join the team.

The Bienvenidos Committee is looking for additional members to help welcome our new residents to the neighborhood. Contact Cyndie Alto (509-881-7569) if you are interested in joining the committee.

The Annual Meeting of the EEHOA will take place on January 20 at CPAC (the Community Performing Arts Center.)
