Contact Kris Bean at eekris2017@outlook.com to throw your hat into the ring. Monthly meetings are scheduled for the third Monday of every month except July and August.

Fiber Arts Out in the Open
Thursday will see the Fiber Arts group knitting au naturel. No, not in the nude--out in the open air of the Ramada. Time is 1 p.m. as usual. Don't know how to knit or crochet? They'll teach you. You'll soon join them in making puppy and kitty blankets. Who knows? Some day you may graduate to tube socks.

Now Showing: For the Love of the Game
The EE movies return this Wednesday at 7 p.m. Bring your own "popcorn, peanuts, crackerjacks" to the Ramada to view For the Love of the Game. Forty-year-old Billy Chapel (Kevin Costner) pitches for the Detroit Tigers in a season-ending game against the Yankees. Meanwhile girlfriend Jane Aubrey (Kelly Preston) heads for the airport. We won't spoil it for you if you don't know the end. Thanks to Jane and Eric Ellingson for sponsoring this event.

Budget Committee to Meet at the Ramada on Halloween
Mark your calendar if you're fascinated by the numbers game. All homeowners are invited to attend the EE Board 2018 Budget Committee scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31.

Danke!
Many thanks to Chief Cook Nancy Ferguson and EE Hospitality volunteers Linda Sielken, Janet Kawalski, Pat Sharpe, Joey Sourant,Cheri Day, Jane Ellingson and Ray Ferguson who made last week's Oktoberfest another great neighborhood get together. The German potato salad and beer-cooked brats were kostlich! The weather sublimieren! Thanks, too, to Jane and Eric Ellingson for cleaning up the Ramada in preparation for the event.

Saturday October 28 Road Closure
Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday La Canada will be closed from Desert Bell to Paseo del Prado for the White Elephant Parade. You'll be able to sneak out of town on Continental, but there'll be traffic galore. Side streets--like Esperanza-- will be full of bands, buses and floats. The parade starts at 10 a.m.and is over when it's over. Plan ahead.
