EEHOA Annual Meeting
The annual homeowners meeting is this Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. (sign in at 12:30) at Canoa Hills GVR Recreation Center, 3660 S. Camino del Sol.  Remember, this isn't the same place the meeting was held last year, so don't go there. Attending the meeting is a great way to find out what's happening in EE and to show your support for the many volunteers who make it all possible. If you didn't send in your ballot, you can turn it in at the meeting.

Hot Off the Press
Get a brand new 2016 EE Name & Address Directory for $3.00. There are many new names and some phone numbers have changed, so don't rely on your old directory. Directories will be sold at the annual meeting. After that you can purchase a copy from Mary Beth Wallace (399-0299). Thanks to Cheri Day for producing the directory and maintaining our EE database.

Sausage Fest
When: Tuesday, January 19, 4:30
Where: Ramada
The Hospitality Team is partnering up with the Optimist Club to provide you with a memorable meal, which will include large size Italian sausage (made by Optimist Club members) on a bun complete with grilled onions and sweet green peppers, chips, and a cookie. Your $7 also includes beer, wine, water or soft drinks. You can also sign up to reserve your bag of regular or hot Italian sausage for the Optimist Club Spring Sausage Sale.

In an effort to keep the price of future Hospitality meals low, the team will raise money by holding a raffle for custom cutting boards with inlaid turquoise and/or copper. The boards were crafted and donated by the very talented Jim Copeland and Terry Shay. Tickets are $1 each.

Coffee & Donuts
The monthly complimentary coffee and donuts is this Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Ramada.  Fortify yourself before heading off to the annual HOA meeting.  Thanks to the Cookes and Surprises for sponsoring this popular event.

Artisans
The fiber arts contingent of the EE Artisans will gather at Barbara Copeland's home (1160 Calle Excelso) on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. to knit or do hand work.  Bring your projects or just come to socialize.

Enhancement Team Concert
The Enhancement Team is holding a brand new event: a musical concert featuring EE resident Hewlett Crist, a world-renowned classical guitarist, treating us to his amazing talent.  Hewlett will play his own compositions arranged for this venue named "Songs of the Desert." The concert will start at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 13th at the EE Ramada, with a Wine and Cheese Reception following.  So, please, don your finest attire, celebrate Valentine's day and join us in welcoming Hewlett. Tickets are $15.00 per person and will be sold at the Sausage Fest (Tuesday Jan 19), at Coffee and Donuts (Wednesday Jan 20), and at the Annual Meeting.  Seating is limited, so pick up your tickets at your first chance.  For more information contact Jackie Rautio at 602-206-3354.

What's Going on in Esperanza Estates Park?
The EE Gardeners are at it again. Yippee! This time they are beautifying EE Park (aka Flag Park).  Gone is the ugly, gray rock that looked like an industrial dumping ground.  After some re-grading, the Gardeners plan to plant several pine trees, bushes, perennials and wildflowers.  Keep watching as it evolves throughout the spring.

Fire Pit Rules Reminder
A new sign in EE Park will serve as a reminder about the rules for using the fire pit in the park: stack no wood, burn responsibly and leave no trace.  Anyone planning on using the pit will have to bring their own wood and haul any unused wood and ashes away.

GV/Sahuarita Community Calendar of Events
The local Chamber of Commerce community calendar lists an event at the Sahuarita High School Auditorium on Saturday, Jan 23, which may be of interest to military veterans in EE:
a Massing of the Colors & Service Remembrance Ceremony starting at 10 a.m., will include color guards and a musical program of patriotic songs. (Click the link above for details.)
